For my newest project, I enlisted the help of my 6 year old neighbour, Max. I asked him to draw me some symbols of Christmas (with his Mummy’s guidance- Thanks Shell !)
You see, I needed an idea for a card that small children could have a hand in creating and after surfing the net I found this idea on Jayne Mercer’s site. She too made it with boys in an early childhood setting with great results.
We love Maxy’s reindeer in the bottom sqaure! Don’t see many of those around here Max!
I used Real Red, Basic black and Whisper White cardstock with Wild wasabi used for the stars. I punched the hole for the “filmstrip” using the Spiral punch and had Max draw on squares punch with the 3.5 square punch. Lately, we added a piece of 1.6cm Real Red Grossgrain ribbon. You could run the perforating tool along the strip beside the stars to create a bookmark if giving a book for Christmas. Better still have the kids write one for the occasion!
Until next post,
